Digital Indigestion

Pool's Edge, Miami FL 2010

I continue to struggle with the digital medium.

It’s almost like the visual dilemma of what vinyl records vs. compact disks was to music.

It’s crisp, it’s clean and it’s sharp, but is that all we want?

Is it the luminance and depth of film you miss? I do - and I'm still working on the "digital problem." I tried the plug-in Exposure 2 that mimics film on digital files but am less than enthusiastic about the results. Maybe it'll just take time. Don't know the answer. And I don't want to add more post processing either.

thats the problem with it, it's crisp, it's clean and it's sharp but there isn't any atmosphere... I only shoot digital but I'm very aware that everything seems to look hyper-real and spacialy flat especially when printed large...
