Reckonings and Reconstructions: Southern Photography from the Do Good Fund
I am pleased that two photographs, from my series of New Orleans Mardi Gras portraits, are included in the anthology book and exhibition, “Reckonings and Reconstructions: Southern Photography from the Do Good Fund” . The exhibition just opened at the Georgia Museum of Art, in Athens, GA and will travel over the next two years to three other venues.
"In celebration of its tenth anniversary, this exhibition uses the Do Good Fund’s sweeping photography collection from 1950s to the present to tease apart the tangled cultural memory of the American South. This exhibition is the first large scale survey of the fund, featuring over 125 photographs from 73 artists, diverse in gender, race, ethnicity, and geography. They range from Guggenheim Fellows to emerging artists and a testify to the fund’s support of young photographers and artists of color." Jerry Siegel 2022
