Once, Chuck Connelly stood on the leading edge of the New York art scene, alongside Jean-Michel Basquiat and Julian Schnabel. His life and art were the basis for Martin Scorsese's segment of "New York Stories," with Nick Nolte stepping into the role as the garrulous artist. According to Jeff Stimmel's portrait, "The Art of Failure: Chuck Connelly, Not for Sale" (HBO, 9 p.m. July 7, 2008 ).
This documentary was like watching a train wreck! It was not entertaining , but it was interesting and informative.
