New Orleans mayor , C. Ray Nagin , annouced last week that more than 200 crime cameras have been installed throughout New Orleans. The mayor said that the cameras are a useful tool for police and will help the city deal with violent crime.

There have been complaints about the effectiveness of the cameras and the ones actually in operation. Surveilence cameras have been used effectively in London , UK , so why not here?
