*Drivin N' Cryin is a hard rock band that featured Southern-inspired lyrics. Formed in Atlanta in 1985, the band was well-known in the Southeast and college towns in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and North Carolina. The band's early albums veered from punk, hard rock, and metal (the "driving" songs) to country, folk and acoustic ballads (the "crying" songs) -- which hard-core fans of the band may have loved, but not so much record labels and radio programmers.
