" The wheels on the folding cot skid as Richard scoots it along in search of the apartment number. When the cot tilts in the pebbly street, he scrambles to set it upright and the wire frame slices his thumb, drawing blood. He sucks the cut. Then he swipes at a line of sweat trickling down his sunburned nose. He'd heard that people with blue eyes suffer the most from sun glare. Not so! His eyes are a muddy tan but his head feels hollowed out like a Halloween pumpkin. Cupping his hands to shade his eyes, he spots 214....."
