STEP IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!

The Six Flags amusement park located in New Orleans East has been shuttered since Katrina. It had performed badly before the storm and damaged badly by it. Company officials had made it clear to the city administration that the park would not reopen. They offered $14 million to walk away, which the city (and mayor C. ray Nagin) rejected two years ago. Now, the Mayor and his administration has decided to accept this offer , the only problem is that Six Flags Inc. is on the verge of bankruptcy. The offer is now off the table, so what is the City of New Orleans doing, suing!
This seems like a step in the wrong direction?

Wait, so Six Flags Inc. was offering the city of New Orleans $14 million so that they could shut down the park and leave?
Why does it need permission from the city to do so? Contractual obligations?
You snooze you lose, Ray.
The park been shut down since Katrina and they had no intention of re-opening it! They were still making their lease payments to the city but offered a settlement to walk!
Hello, I would love to design your blog header! I can create a still or animated header that would compliment your blog perfectly. You can visit my blog here.
Either way, good luck with your blog! ~Joel
Another example of poor leadership that was brought forth by New Orleans. It's funny though they could have made so much money. Crazy. I think that they should take what they can get out of this deal and leave!
Congrats on being Blog of Note!! Awesome job!
Congrats on Blog of Note! They always get it right. This looks like a great blog. Ironically, I just blogged about Hurricane Katrina, though ever so briefly. It was party to a nightmare I had last night about Arabi, Louisiana, which I truly have never heard of. Weirdness. Congrats, again!
Thanks! I have been blogging about New Orleans , Louisiana and about life here since Katrina! I think this is going on 3 1/2 years now.
Wow - what an angry waste of time, that lawsuit...
Seems like people want to filter the anger from their financial-issues to one source.. Anger outsourcing.. Maybe this is just that on a larger scale?
Love those stairs, though..
Great blog & great information provided for us. Thanks :)
All I can say is wow. Ridiculous.
Opportunity knocks but once. And they did not take that opportunity. Now that the offerers can no longer offer the offering due to bankruptcy, how can the government sue? Bet the offerer will simply walk away with their six flags intact? Life indeed is made of uncertainty that may lead us to a wrong direction.
Congratulations on your blog.
Dere be no man bate my brother,he fights all day with my mother, sometimes they do bate one another, dere be no man bate my brother.

Congrats on being a "Blog of Note"!
I don't normally visit the B.o.N's but was attracted to your's because of the photography aspect.
As a professional photographer (your resume is quite impressive), I would love to hear your critiques/comments on my photo blog. If you find the time to stop by occassionally, I would appreciate it.

i wonder how much it will cost the city to sue a company that will most likely file for chapter 11 protection.. then they will get now money.. it just goes to show you take the money when it is on the table and run.... http://stopbeingsheep.blogspot.com/
Hello ladies
I think its always a little bit precarious when a company that thrills people by bringing them to the edge of safety DOESN'T want to do it anymore. I feel like you should let them walk away instead of forcing them to screw up later!
It is important to document people who are carpeting 50% of their cement. Such media will be important during future trials.
I miss Six Flags. I haven't been in years but I have some fond memories. Sigh...
