William Greiner print charity auction!!!!

I am auctioning three small exhibition prints of a Louisiana Marsh scene , to benefit the children of Gordon Jones. Gordon was one of the 11 oil field workers to perish in the Gulf of Mexico on Deep Water Horizon rig.

GULF PRAYER

It was a Gulf of water
that became an ocean of oil
turning from blue to brown,
like it was liquid soil.

And all the creatures
could not see what it
would end up to be,
including me.

We closed our eyes
to remember how beautiful
it was a Gulf of water.
You see you can't walk on water.

And as the nightmares begin to end,
we will wait and wait and hope in pray.
The Gulf, The Gulf will live another day.

WINGFOOT

WINGFOOT, Baton Rouge LA 2010 from the series AUTOMATIC

Growing up in a family that sold auto parts for a living, we were strangely uninterested in America's car culture. AUTOMATIC is my latent response to it.

In 1991, I visited a friend in rural Ohio. Her dad was an oil man , still drilling shallow wells in the fields of Ohio. Looking back on these images now, I am not as comfortable knowing this was being done in the midst of food crops.
